Hair psoriasis

There is no doubt that all people strive to improve the condition of their hair; Man, by nature, is created by God beautiful, and poetry is one of the secrets of his beauty.

A person becomes confused and anxious when his hair is affected by something that harms him. Any harm, even minor, such as: (hair breaks and its strands curl) causes its owner to be confused and anxious. The state of sadness hangs over him throughout his life.

It is a disturbing chronic injury to the hair (Psoriasis of the scalp) that affects the scalp due to an immune deficiency.

Its danger lies in the fact that it accompanies its owner throughout his life and does not cease to leave him, except that by taking medicines, its spread is reduced, and its symptoms are also alleviated.

Here is a discussion of hair psoriasis in detail:

Psoriasis:

It is a long-term autoimmune skin disease that appears in the form of abnormal scaly patches in the skin.

Psoriasis is characterized by excessive and rapid abnormal growth on the skin, where skin cells are replaced every 3-5 days, while the normal rate is every 28-30 days, as keratinocytes mature prematurely.

This disease results from a defect or disorder in the genes, as it is stimulated by environmental factors, and symptoms worsen during the winter season, and taking some medications such as anti-inflammatory drugs, non-steroidal drugs and beta-blockers, and stress plays an important role in the occurrence of the disease.

It is not an infectious disease, but rather it results from an interaction between the immune system and keratinocytes.

The appearance of symptoms varies from person to person in terms of severity, sometimes appearing in the form of small localized spots and sometimes reaching spots covering the entire body.

People get psoriasis at different stages of life, but it usually affects people in adulthood and it comes in equal proportions for men and women, and there is no actual cure for psoriasis, but different treatments help in controlling the symptoms of the disease where about 75% of cases infected with psoriasis can be treated using creams .

Types of psoriasis:

Plaque psoriasis:

It is the most common, accounting for about 90% of all cases of psoriasis. It is known as chronic psoriasis. It appears in the form of red spots topped with white scales, where they are located in several areas of the body, the most common of these areas are the back of the forearms, legs and the navel area scalp and back.

When the condition worsens, widespread inflammation appears on a large part of the surface of the body and its peeling appears. The person affected feels severe dryness, itching, swelling and pain. This type of psoriasis is fatal because severe inflammation and crusting prevent the body from its ability to thermoregulate and perform protective functions.

Infold psoriasis:

It appears in the form of red, smooth, inflamed spots that appear in the folds of the skin such as the armpits, between the thighs, between the buttocks, under the breasts, and the folds of the skin of the abdomen for those who have obesity.

There are some medical studies that have proven that heat, trauma, and infection play an important role in the development of uncommon flexural

 psoriasis. Pustular psoriasis:

It results in raised bruises on the surface of the skin filled with pus and red in color called pustular arthritis.

Qatar psoriasis:

It resembles drops and appears in the body in the form of small scaly blisters of red or pink color filled with pus. It is not contagious and spreads in many places in the body, but it abounds in the body, limbs and scalp.

Oral psoriasis:

It is rare and affects the skin and the lining of the mouth, where the tongue appears cracked.

Seborrheic-like psoriasis:

It appears in areas with dense sebaceous glands, such as the scalp, forehead, skin folds next to the nose, around the mouth, and the skin of the chest, where it appears in the form of red plaques with greasy scales.

Psoriatic arthritis:

It is associated in most cases with skin psoriasis and nail psoriasis, as it includes where it affects the joints and causes inflammation in them, causing severe pain and inflammation of the synovial membrane.

It affects the hips, knees and spine, causing spondylitis and sacroiliitis. It also affects the joints of the fingers, especially the toes, where it works on swelling of the fingers and it is called finger inflammation, which is the most common

. Psoriatic arthritis is an advanced case of skin psoriasis.
